For the last ten years or so television has embraced communicating in a more cinematic way. For me it started with the History channel T.V. show Vikings. I was amazed at how the history channel had full on embraced cinematic storytelling. The show was amazingly well done. To me this signaled that people had gotten tired of the same old formulas and something new was about to happen. Paradigm shift.

As a content creator I started hearing of how brands wanted to shoot things differently. They wanted to be more like this show or that show. In the corporate space everyone wanted to be witty or clever. Reproducing the humor of Jimmy Kimmel or Trevor Noah. PR reps started talking about shooting like Wes Anderson. It was nuts.

with that said here’s 5 things you can do to make sure you shoot clean video a corporate client will love.

  1. Great lighting, I mean legendary lighting with great color correction in post.

  2. Hire good talent! Nothing sells belief like practiced actors

  3. Props! find and create a relationship with a set designers, make up artists, and wardrobe people.

  4. Get a good script! Make sure the script speaks to the clients audience and not just the client themselves.

  5. Make sure the client trusts you and allows you to deliver what they need. This is probably the hardest thing to do.
